A Building Management System (BMS) controls the operation of the largest energy consumers within a building, namely the HVAC plant, which may form up to 60% of the buildings overall consumption.

It is essential that any BMS is configured to ensure optimal performance of the HVAC plant, while maintaining both comfort conditions and a healthy environment, and maintained to a high standard to ensure these conditions are met. Ideally this is carried out in conjunction with an energy metering and monitoring platform to allow performance to be assessed and maintained.

Optimisation

Optimisation of a BMS is simply the most cost effective way to reduce the energy consumption of a building.

This process involves analysis of the current BMS configuration and identifying improvements to ensure the buildings HVAC plant only operates when necessary, makes optimum use of any free energy sources for heating or cooling and operates to the absolute minimum requirement during times of peak energy costs, where energy is procured via an appropriate contract.

We now offer a funded BMS re-engineering and optimisation facility, Optimisation as a Service (OaaS), over a number of years designed to give immediate energy savings and positive cash flow over an agreed period of time.


Maintenance

In order for a BMS to efficiently control the HVAC plant, it must be maintained to a high standard. A system cannot work efficiently if connected devices are faulty or inaccurate, or if settings have been adjusted without due consideration.
